Once upon a time…

It started with a sofa.

One day, a custom-made sofa was delivered to our home. Unfortunately, it was the wrong size, and the table we had chosen no longer fitted the space.

So I decided to make a table myself.

That first table was the beginning of something I had not planned. I discovered how much I enjoyed creating with my hands, experimenting with materials and turning unexpected things into objects with a new purpose.

I started making more tables, often combining materials that would not normally be used together. Some came from things that had been discarded or overlooked. Others emerged simply from the desire to see what would happen when different materials met.

Eventually, I began looking at mirrors in the same way.

Mirrors that do more than reflect

For me, a mirror is not simply a functional object.

I am interested in what happens when a familiar reflection is disrupted, fragmented or transformed. By changing the shape, arrangement or combination of materials, I try to make mirrors that interact with their surroundings in unexpected ways.

Each piece is designed and handmade by me in Prague.

Some works exist as individual pieces. Others are made in limited series, where each handmade piece can differ slightly in dimensions, colours or arrangement while remaining part of the same original design.

Andrea Lussoli

Andrea Lussoli is the name under which I create and sign my work.

My practice began with furniture and gradually developed toward mirrors and other artistic objects. I work primarily with glass, mirrors and found or unconventional materials, exploring the space between functional design and art.

I am interested in objects that do not simply occupy a space, but change the way we perceive it.
